OPMC 2013 Concert Date Set

OPMC will be presenting their 2013 concert on March 2 at the Sequim HS auditorium.  At this point the working theme is “traveling” but we expect it to change as we move forward on the music.  But you can mark your calendars with March 2nd.

Sing Out at Clallam County Fair 2012

OPMC did a sing out at the Clallam County Fair on the Sunny Farms stage, which was temporarily tagged as the “Richard E. Davies  DDS”  stage based on the banner behind us. Good weather — not too hot.  We got a good crowd and we were even able to embarrass one of the Fair royalty by singing the song “Hello Mary Lou”   to her.

Congratulations !

Congratulations and a job well done to Keith for setting up the new OPMC web site using WordPress.  We’ve got all the functionality we had before and more because there is more room for others to add STUFF.  The new site should also be easier for everyone to get around on and will be more up to date then OPMENSCHORUS 1.0

Thanks Keith

Welcome to Jim Davis — OPMC’s Director

Jim Davis started as the OPMC Director in April 2012.

Jim started singing Barbershop in Jr. High School, but took it up in earnest in 1995 with the Carson City, NV chapter.  Within 6 months with that chapter, he started directing the chorus.

Since then he has directed the Santa Cruz chapter, which is a mixed chorus and has been Associate Director the Prescott Valley and Olympia chapters.  For two years he was the Assistant Choir Director of Tolt Congregational Church in Carnation, WA.  Jim has honed his directing skills by attending the Societies Harmony / Directors college six times and is one class short of being a “Master Director” with the Society, and that will be remedied in June of this year.  He has sung in many choruses, church choirs and quartets as Lead and plans on staying active in Barbershop for many years to come.
