Vocal Chords, Some Strings Attached

To start off spring,  shake off the Peninsula Winter, and support the local arts come on out to

“Vocal Chords, Some Strings Attached”

on March 22nd.

The Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus (OPMC) and guests will be presenting 2 shows to raise funds for Olympic Theatre Arts in Sequim.  The guests include a great bluegrass band “Luck of the Draw” and the “Young Fiddlers”. “Luck of the Draw” has been performing around the Peninsula for many years and does regular gigs at the Fairmount Restaurant in Port Angeles. The band performs bluegrass, country, and will throw in pop songs as well. They are a lot of fun and have a local following.

The “Young Fiddlers” includes the accomplished violinist Kate Powers, a 14-year-old who plays first violin in the Port Angeles Symphony. Kate is also part of the recently formed Deka Trio along with cellist Marlene Moore and pianist Gary McRoberts. So you can expect to hear “fiddle” music and possibly some classical violin from Kate.

Along with these 2 groups OPMC,  under the direction of Jim Davis will be singing some songs and the world famous quartet “No Batteries Required” (NBR) will be singing some barbershop, doo wop, and anything else that comes to mind. NBR and Dave Secord from “Luck of the Draw” have a special surprise planned.

The concerts are to raise funds for Olympic Theatre Arts to allow them to continue in their efforts to promote arts in the community.
